About
Here’s a Story About the Painter Keale Comstock
I am always fascinated with painters. In Europe, the lives of painters are taken very seriously. In the Untied States, Art was introduced after the wars, through museums and affluent buyers who purchased art in Europe, or the rest of the world for private collections.
Today, when I go to France to visit my friend’s gallery in La Baule, they carry the modern day artists that are successful and well known. The gallery openings and shows are well planned and everyone in the community attends. They wait for new art, they buy, they support all their artists.
On the North Shore, there is something of a Renaissance happening, as I can see it. The annual Hale`iwa Art Festival takes place every Summer and draws many local artists to showcase art as we have seen on the Islands. But there are many more venues small and private that are growing, not just galleries, also events that encourage art to be seen. However, it is the same as it was 100 years ago for artists, it continues to be a struggle. Supplies, space, time, sales, and just surviving are still part of artist’s lives. Wave Paintings is brought to you by Keale’s Ohana. An effort of love and enduring support, like Theo supported Vincent, we support Keale.
Here you will find his art inspired from the North Shore of O`ahu and other special places. In Hawai`i, we live amongst a beautiful Island chain. We respect the Hawaiian People, culture, and land. His paintings and works help capture the beauty around us.
Many Artists have painted the Pacific Islands. Here is his story and his collection of art offered to you. In each work, we will share where it was painted. Keale is an Artist with a soul filled with compassion, believes in true love, and adores nature. We hope you can find here a painting, carving, print, or ceramic artwork, that makes you truly happy.
